Where it sits in the bid workflow
Sage Estimating operates at the detailed-estimating stage of the bid workflow. A contractor preparing a price uses it to build a quantity-driven estimate against a maintained cost database, with labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost categories. Estimates can be exported to Sage 300 CRE for downstream job-cost and accounting workflows once the bid is won.
Sage Estimating is most heavily used by firms already running Sage 300 CRE for accounting. The integration between estimating and downstream accounting is one of the main reasons firms adopt it.
